Handgun 2: Intermediate Course Overview

Welcome to the “Handgun 2: Intermediate” course—a five-hour training conducted in the classroom and on the range, dedicated to boosting your confidence and competence in Intermediate Handgun skills, preparing you for the Advanced Handgun level.

Course Requirements:
Prior completion of Handgun 1 Into and Basics or equivalent GGC fundamentals is mandatory to participate in this class.

Class Size:
To ensure personalized attention and maintain safety, this class will be limited to a maximum of 6 students.

During this hands-on course, you will focus on the following key areas:

1. Reinforcing Fundamentals
2. Reviewing and practicing malfunction clearance techniques
3. Learning and executing magazine reloads from a magazine pouch
4. Engaging in advanced drills to introduce stress and pressure

Safety will be our top priority throughout the training, and all safety procedures will be strictly enforced.

Materials to Bring:

•  One firearm, unloaded & cased
• Owner’s manual for your firearm
• Safety glasses & ear protection (will be provided if needed)
• 10 dummy rounds/snap caps (can be provided if needed, though strongly recommended to bring your own)
• OWB Holster for strong side draw
• Minimum of 2 magazine pouches
• Minimum of 3 empty magazines
• 100 rounds of live ammunition

All drills will prioritize the fundamentals, trigger preparation, and trigger reset, in addition to the new skills you will acquire.

AR-15 Builders Workshop will be a hands-on experience on building an AR-15 from the ground up. This course, taught by manufacturer builders, will explain how to build the rifle and enhance the student’s practical knowledge of the rifle and its use as a responsible firearm owner.

Students will be given the option to select one of the following configurations upon signing up for the course:

• AR-15 Rifle chambered in 5.56 with 16” barrel
• AR-15 Pistol chambered in 5.56 7.5” barrel

All AR-15s will be Mil-Spec and include a free-float handguard. Various upgrades will be available for purchase during the course.

Course Content:

• The workshop is 7 hours, including range time to conduct a live fire function check.
• Lower and upper-receiver build classes will be taught step-by-step to allow each student enough time to learn the steps.
• The Gunsmith will be able to relate the relevance and importance of each step, broadening the student’s knowledge of their rifle.
• All tools and rifle components will be provided
• Lunch is catered by our Copper Jacket Restaurant

STOP THE BLEED ® PLUS

Discover the importance of rapid bleeding response through our Stop the Bleed training. Gain essential life-saving skills to be the first to help in emergencies. The course includes national Stop the Bleed material and covers common life-threatening injuries.

A person who is bleeding can die from blood loss within three to five minutes. Emergency responders will arrive as quickly as possible, but bystanders are almost always there first. In the case of disaster and high casualty incidents, emergency services are often spread thin.

“Stop the Bleed” is a nationwide campaign to empower individuals to act quickly and save lives. No matter how rapid the arrival of professional emergency responders, bystanders will always be first on the scene.  A person who is bleeding can die from blood loss within five minutes.

This course will cover the national Stop the Bleed course material and will be supplemented with additional material to cover the most common life-threatening injuries.

• Actions to ensure personal safety
• How to identify bleeding as a life threat
• The use of hands to apply direct pressure
• Proper use of wound packing
• Proper use of tourniquets
• Additional material
