Shot trap and ready for more variety? 5-Stand is your next move — or jump straight in if it’s your first time on a clay course.

5-Stand Sporting Clays is a 2–3 hour range course introducing shooters to the most versatile clay target format available — five positions, multiple machines, and targets flying every direction: crossing, incoming, rising, and dropping. You’ll learn to read each presentation and break birds you’ve never seen before, with instructor coaching on the stand throughout. No experience required.

What you’ll work on:

• How 5-stand works — reading the menu card, machine numbers, and squad rotation
• Crossing targets — hard left, hard right, and lead commitment
• Rising and dropping targets — reading trajectory and timing the trigger
• True pairs and report pairs — first-bird discipline and hold point reset
• Full 5-stand round — all five stations in competition sequence with instructor debrief

• Duration: 2–3 hours (range only — no classroom)
• Ammo: Not included — 12 gauge target loads available for purchase in-store
• Price: $150
• Prerequisites: None — open to all skill levels
• Rental shotgun: Included at no extra cost

What to bring: Shotgun if you own one — over-unders are most common on 5-stand, but any action is welcome. Rentals available free of charge. Eye and ear protection — available free of charge. 12 gauge target loads — available for purchase in-store.
