Mantis Skills & Drills Workshop
5740 C.H. James Parkway
Powder Springs GA. 30127
New to Governors!
Our Master Mantis Instructor will be taking students through dry & live fire utilization of their mantis products.
To address the development of skills utilizing the Mantis system we need to have a basic understanding of where we are in our current shooting skill level, what habits we have developed and how we progress through the basic firing sequence.
To begin we should utilize the Mantis X Benchmark.
Drill 1. The Mantis X Benchmark will test our precision and performance over the course of 10 shots and give us a baseline from which to develop our skills. Careful consideration should also be taken to correct any and all biomechanical errors present such as stance, grip, head position and finger placement. This should take no more than 10 minutes for the entire group.
After accessing a baseline for each shooter audio feedback should be set to create a bar for advancement. After which Open Training should be utilized.
Drill 2. Open training drill should be utilized for a series of 50 shots, and any further corrections should be made to biomechanics and proper firing sequence fundamentals.
After the assessment and corrections made from open training an understanding of how each hands actions are taken into effect through a course of fire should be understood. Hence a course of Primary hand only and Support Hand only should be done.
Drill 3. Primary hand only Drill
Drill 4. Support Hand Only Drill
In understanding what a trigger press feels like through each independent hand we grow a greater understanding for the methodology of a complete and proper trigger press.
The last drill would simply be to repeat the Mantis X Benchmark drill to re-access and set a new bar to be overcome.
Drill 5. MANTIS X BENCHMARK
