NRA Basic Range Safety Officer (RSO) Course
Description:
This course is designed to develop NRA Certified Range Safety Officers and provide them with the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations.
This course is conducted in a classroom and at a shooting facility. Range Safety Officer candidates will learn:
- The roles and responsibilities of an RSO
- How to develop and utilize Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- The critical components of range inspection and how to conduct inspections
- The necessity for range rules and how to effectively enforce them
- How to develop and conduct range briefings
- Determining and implementing emergency procedures
- How to address firearm stoppages and malfunctions
Each Range Safety Officer Candidate will receive an RSO Student Study Guide, and lunch will be provided.
There will be a written test for certification, so please bring an open mind and note taking material.
NO FIREARMS OR AMMUNITION ALLOWED IN THIS COURSE
