Rifle 1 Intro and Basics Course Overview
Welcome to the “Rifle 1: Intro & Basics” course—a comprehensive 6-hour training that encompasses classroom discussions, range time, and a meal!
Throughout this course, participants will gain invaluable knowledge about firearm safety, the responsibilities of firearm ownership, and the fundamental principles of shooting. Additionally, students will delve into the workings of carbines, empowering them to make informed decisions while choosing the most suitable carbine for their specific needs. The curriculum includes a basic overview of ammunition, covering the internal functions of carbines and ammunition selection. Moreover, participants will be equipped with essential skills to tackle common malfunctions they may encounter with their carbine.
Accessory recommendations tailored to the carbine will be thoroughly reviewed, ensuring that students have the appropriate setup to meet their defensive requirements.
Required Course Materials:
– Carbine platform rifle or pistol (loaners available)
– Rifle and Pistol caliber carbines are acceptable
– 100 rounds of FMJ ammunition (Please note: NO steel core or tracer allowed)
– Minimum of 2 magazines
– Hearing and eye protection
– Minimum of 5 dummy rounds (can be provided if needed, but recommended to bring your own)
– Comfortable clothing, closed-toed shoes, and no low-cut shirts
– Note-taking material
– Adult Waiver
In light of the ongoing ammunition shortage, we encourage participants to bring their own ammunition to ensure full participation in the class. By enrolling in this course, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and legally allowed to operate, possess, transfer, or own a firearm in the State of Georgia, as stipulated by federal, state, and local laws. Providing false information or misrepresenting your eligibility to possess firearms in Georgia will lead to immediate removal from the class and forfeiture of all course fees. Additionally, by registering for this course, you explicitly assume the risks associated with firearms instruction and participation in activities that involve the use and discharge of firearms, including live ammunition.
