Practical Pistol 3

Movement & Targets

The most dynamic course in the Practical Pistol Series. You'll take the skills built in PP1 and PP2 and apply them under real pressure — moving while shooting, engaging multiple targets, and performing in timed scenario-based drills that test your decision-making as much as your technique.

What you'll work on

Skills covered

01

Shooting on the Move

Learn to fire accurately while moving laterally and forward. Drills break down footwork, muzzle control, and sight picture while in motion.

02

Blending

Blending is the skill of transitioning in and out of shooting positions while staying on target — getting into position, engaging, and moving out without breaking your shooting cadence. Drills build the ability to start moving while still firing and stop moving into a stable position with no wasted time.

03

Target Transitions

Efficiently move between multiple targets, manage split times, and develop the visual tracking skills needed when more than one target is in play. Drills build speed and accuracy across target arrays of varying distance and position.

04

Combining Everything

The final block of PP3 puts it all together. Students run a course of fire that draws on skills from every class in the Practical Pistol Series — draw, fundamentals, reloads, movement, blending, and target transitions — executed under time pressure in a structured scenario.
