Prerequisite Training
This course is NOT for the new shooter! We require students attending this course to have a fundamental understanding of how to safely operate and manipulate their firearm.
We require students to have previously attended both Governor’s Handgun 1 & Governor’s Intro to Holster Draw Or be approved through a Governors Gun Club Class Placement.
Failure to demonstrate safe & proper firearm handling will result in dismissal from the course.
If you have any questions about the expectations of Prerequisite Training you may contact us prior to registration.
Holster & Equipment Requirements
- Holster Requirements: In this course we DO NOT allow any Leather Holsters, Universal Holsters or Serpa-Style Holsters. A SERPA-style holster is ANY holster that requires the use of the trigger finger, or index finger, to release the gun from the holster.
Your holster MUST cover the trigger and trigger guard completely. Maintain adequate retention of the firearm. Or otherwise not present any safety concerns. Failure to provide an adequate holster may lead to dismissal from the course.
Our recommendation on holsters for this course is a Kydex, Outside The WaistBand(OWB), paddle or belt loop holster.
- Belt Requirements: In this course we require a belt that is sturdy enough to support the weight of a loaded firearm, holster & magazine pouches.
- Magazine Pouches/Holster: In this course we require a minimum of 1 magazine holster or pouch that can be attached to a belt.
If you have any questions about the requirements & expectations of holsters & equipment you may contact us prior to registration.
